About
wrestling.promo is a free, centralized event calendar for professional wrestling in the US and Canada. Our simple goal (inspired by puwota.com, which does something similar and essential in Japan) is to present a comprehensive directory of upcoming wrestling events. You won't need to create an account – just open the webpage and check the schedule. We're not interested in tracking you, emailing you, or selling you anything other than tickets to wrestling shows. Our site links directly to the promotion’s own page — we don’t sell tickets ourselves or take a cut of anything.
Our automated systems pull data from official promotion websites and ticketing platforms to keep the calendar up to date. Dates, venues, and times are taken directly, as best we can, from online sources (which may be wrong, or out-of-date!). For the most current information, always confirm details with the promotion directly.
Getting Listed
If your favorite promotion is missing (or if there's an event missing), please let us know!
Since we rely on automated systems (there's a lot of wrestling out there!), we don't have the ability to manually add events. To get events reliably listed, a promotion needs to have a stable online presence with event information that we can pull from. For us, this means something like a regularly updated website with clear event details, or an active presence on a ticketing platform like Eventbrite or Ticketmaster.
Easiest for us is something like an Eventbrite organizer page, but a very simple "Upcoming Events" page on a website also works great, even if it's just a list of events with dates, times, locations, and links to tickets. A regularly updated linktree or similar that includes event details in text form can also work, but it needs to be kept up to date and include all the relevant details for us to reliably pull from it.
What we have trouble with
- We're not able to extract events from social media feeds like Facebook, Instagram, or (what used to be) Twitter. A linktree or similar will work - if it's kept up to date and contains or links to event details in text form.
- We rely on text, so images of event posters without accompanying text details can't be picked up by our systems.
- Events that aren't part of a regular promotion schedule can be difficult to track. A common example of this is a promotion that generally sells tickets for their events through Eventbrite (which works great for us!), but once in a while runs a special show at a local venue (say a bar, theatre, or a concert venue) that sells the tickets through their own site (alongside a bunch of other non-wrestling events). It can be challenging for us to include events like that in our listings, especially if it's only being promoted through social media. If there's no link to the tickets on your website in a place where we know to regularly check for special events, we're probably going to miss it.
- We can't pull from sources that require a login or have anti-scraping measures in place.
- We also have a lot of trouble with recurring events that don't have explicit start/end dates or times. "Every Thursday night in the parking lot of Joe's Bar and Grill" is tough for us.
- Events that don't have tickets sold in advance or a clear way to RSVP are difficult for us to track.
We know there's a lot of very cool and fun wrestling out there that's pretty casually advertised - often just with a poster image on social media, a facebook event, and tickets sold at the door. We wish we could get all of it, but we just don't have the resources to do that. (But we also think it's a good idea for those promotions to work toward a more stable online presence, both for our sake and for the sake of their fans! Get in touch, maybe we can help?)
One-time Shows and Events
We do our best to include one-off shows, festivals, and special events whenever possible. There's a lot of really cool stuff that happens outside of the normal "promotion" structure, but it can be hard for us to find out about it. If you know of a one-time show or event that should be listed, please let us know! We can usually add it if we can find a reliable (even if it's temporary!) source for the event details.
Data & accuracy
Event data is pulled automatically from official sources and refreshed regularly (usually every three days).
You can see exactly which promotions we track and when each one was last updated on the data coverage page.
Featured Events
We are doing a little experimenting with featuring some events using small banner images that appear on relevant pages (and that link directly to tickets for those events). Right now, this is just a small selection of events that we think are particularly interesting or noteworthy (and maybe events we're going to), but if you'd like to see your event featured, please let us know!
